June 16, 2012 - In celebration of the band's 40th anniversary, the Dowco Triumph Street Pipe Band is proud to release its new CD With Purpose.

With Purpose was recorded at the beginning of May at Hipposonic Studios (formally known as Mushroom Studios), one of Vancouver's premier recording facilities. The location has a long history and has recorded many great artists including Diana Ross and the Supremes, Led Zeppelin, Heart and Loverboy.

With Purpose was produced by Ian Casselman, drummer and founding member of Juno-nominated Marianas Trench, who appeared courtesy of 604 Records.

The band was also pleased to have two of Vancouver's most sought after sound engineers in Dave 'Rave' Ogilvie and Dean Maher work on the album. Dave has worked with multi-platinum artists such as Queen, David Bowie and Nine Inch Nails, and recently mixed Carly Rae Jepsen's international hit 'Call Me Maybe'. Dean has worked with the likes of Hedley, Marianas Trench and Michael Buble. With Purpose features thirteen diverse tracks, including two suites composed by Australian band member Simon Blackshaw. The album bridges from the traditional to contemporary, with tracks ranging from Amazing Grace to pieces that include backing tracks featuring Ian Casselman.
